I do like the standup if it really is “stand up” (so short that it’s not worth sitting down).
What I’ve seen work best is just a quick “hey this is what I’m doing today/this week, will depend on yyy” so that anyone who depends on what you’re doing (or not doing) knows; alternatively, “wait, you’re depending on my project yyy?”, no discussion except, “hey, let’s talk directly after this”.
Not for any manager’s benefit, just for each others’. Like a code review there should be no judgement. If anybody wants discussion do it elsewhere so everybody else can get on with things.
